On April 10, 2018, the China-aid 1MWp BIPV Project of Singha Durbar Secretariat has been officially handed over to Ministry of Energy of Nepal by Chinese side after successful acceptance test.
The total installed capacity of the BIPV project is 1MWp, being of a distributed solar power generation system for self use with excess power supplied to the grid. The solar panels were mainly installed on the roofs of the Prime Minister's Office Building, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, some other buildings and three parking sheds. CQEC is responsible for the feasibility study, engineering design and project management of the project. The project was officially started on November 28, 2016, and passed the completion acceptance on February 20, 2018.
The handover of this project is another breakthrough of CQEC in the countries along the“Belt and Road” Initiative after successful completion of the China-aid 1MWp BIPV Project of National Assembly of Pakistan, China-aid 1MWp Distributed Solar Power Project of F-9 Park of Pakistan, and China-aid Solar Street Light Project of Comoros. The successful completion of these projects has not only promoted our international reputation, but also laid a solid foundation for further expansion of overseas markets.
