Commencement Ceremony held for China-aid Teaching Building of Confucius Institute in Jamaica

On May 17, 2018, Commencement Ceremony was held in Kingston for China-aid Teaching Building of Confucius Institute in Jamaica. Over one hundred guests from both Jamaica and Chinese sides gathered at the project site to witness and celebrate this event. Mr. Ruel Reid, Minister of Ministry of Education, Youth and Information of Jamaica, and Mr. Tian Qi, Chinese Ambassador to Jamaica, made speeches on behalf of Jamaican and Chinese Governments.

The Confucius Institute is located in the Mona College of Western India University in the capital city Kingston. The Teaching Building will be constructed to have classrooms, administration offices, meeting and conference rooms, exhibition hall and reception etc, amounting 2400m². Total construction period will be 14 months.

CQEC undertakes the engineering design and project management works of this project.
