On May 30th, 2019, hundreds of senior officials and representatives from both China and Rwanda gathered in the campus of IPRC Musanze to witness the foundation-stone laying and project commencement ceremony of the China-Aid Extension Project of IPRC Musanze. Senior officials including Mr. Rao Hongwei, Chinese Ambassador in Rwanda, Mr. Wang Jiaxin, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda, Mr. Eugene Mutimura, Minister of The Ministry of Education of Rwanda, Mr. JMV Gatabazi, Governor of the Northern Province of Rwanda, and Mr. James Gashumba, Vice Chancellor of Rwanda Polytechnic, presented in the ceremony. Representatives of both the Project Management Company, China Qiyuan Engineering Corporation (abbr. as CQEC), and the Project Contractor, Chongqing International Construction Corporation (abbr. as CICO), together with hundreds of students of the school also participated in the ceremony.
The China-Aid Extension Project of IPRC Musanze will be consisted of Administration Building, Comprehensive Teaching Building, students’ dormitories, training workshops, auxiliary functional rooms, squares, roads and outdoor parking lots in the campus. The total construction area of this Extension Project will be 7,600 Square meters and construction period will be 18 months.
When the Extension Project is finished, together with its first phase, IPRC Musanze will become one of the largest vocational and technical schools of Rwanda, and will play a decisive role in promoting of the vocational and technical education, training massive number of vocational and technical personnel, accelerating the development of industry and economy of Rwanda. And the IPRC Musanze will be a landmark project of China-Aid in Rwanda as well!
