Groundbreaking Ceremony Held in Freetown for the China-aid Project of Foreign Service Academy Building of Sierra Leone

The groundbreaking ceremony of China-aid Project of Foreign Service Academy Building of Sierra Leone was held on December 21st in Freetown, capital of Sierra Leone. China Qiyuan Engineering Corporation (abbr. as CQEC) undertakes the engineering design and project management task of this project.

H.E. Dr Julius Maada Bio, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Minister of Works and Public Assets, Minister of Technical and Higher Education of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Chinese Ambassador, H. E. Mr. Hu Zhangliang, Economic & Commercial Counselor of China, Mr. Du Zijun, representatives of CQEC and EPC contractor, mainstream medias of Sierra Leone, along with hundreds of local people attended this ceremony.

This China-aid project is located at Freetown, adjacent to Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Cooperation, with total construction area of over 4,500 square meters consisted of standard classrooms, computer classrooms, digital classrooms, conference rooms, academic lecture halls, books and multimedia reading rooms, supporting administrative offices, catering service rooms, equipment rooms, guard room, square, road, fence and parking lot, etc., and provide office and teaching furniture, multimedia digital teaching equipment and kitchen kits.

This project is the first diplomatic training institute granted by the Chinese government to Sierra Leone. After completion, it will train more professional diplomats for Sierra Leone and promote Sierra Leone's foreign exchanges and international cooperation.
