On November 29, 2021, Mr. Emile Abayisenga, Principal of IPRC Musanze & Speaker of Musanze District Council, addressed a letter of appreciation to the China Qiyuan Engineering Corporation (CQEC) Project Management Team of the China-aided Extension Project of IPRC Musanze in Northern Province, Rwanda. On behalf of staff and students of IPRC Musanze, he was grateful for contributions by Mr. Mao Jintian and Mr. Liu Bo with the project management team and appreciated their friendship, collaboration, support, social cohesion, exchange of culture, and harmony demonstrated to Rwanda.
The project started on June 1, 2019, completed on August 31, 2021, passed the final acceptance inspection by the Ministry of Commerce of China on October 5, 2021, entered into technical acceptance agreements on November 12, 2021 that marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Rwanda diplomatic relations, and was officially handed over to Rwanda on November 24, 2021, fully covered by mainstream media of China and Rwanda including Rwanda Broadcasting Agency, The New Times, and Xinhua News Agency. The project provides the administration office building, comprehensive teaching building, muti-functional hall, students' dormitories, training workshops, outdoor training shed, and auxiliary functional rooms including duty room and power house, auxiliary facilities including square, road and outdoor parking lots in the campus; training equipment as well as office furniture. Total land area of the new campus is about 41,000 m2, and total floor area is 7,600 m2.
As one of the most important China-aid projects in Rwanda, it is a landmark of China-Rwanda cooperation in education and will incubate more local vocational talents and will make graduates more competitive in local and international markets. After the completion and handover of the new campus, IPRC Musanze has become the most famous and largest IPRC in Rwanda, which will significantly promote technical vocational education and accelerate economic development of Rwanda. In the post COVID-19 pandemic era, CQEC is forging ahead and proceeding to undertake more missions and duties as a Chinese state-owned company, contribute to more China-aid projects, rooted deeply in the international market so as to help build the shared future for mankind in the world.
